Objectives

• Identify the rooms in a house
• Identify different types of lodging.

 

 

Où habites-tu?                                                                          Where do you live?
J’habite dans une maison à Bordeaux.                                     I live in a house in Bordeaux.

Où est le jardin ?                                                                       Where is the garden ?
Le jardin est là-bas.                                                                   The garden is over there.

Où est le garage ?                                                                      Where is the garage ?
Il est derrière le jardin.                                                               It’s behind the garden.

Il y a combien de pièces dans ta maison ?                                How many rooms are there in your house?
Il y a cinq pièces.                                                                        There are five rooms.

 

There are four ways to write “the”:
le (in front of a singular masculine noun).
la (in front of a singular feminine noune).
l’ (in front of a word that begins with a vowel).
les (in front of a plural noun).
The word jardin can mean “yard” as well as “garden”.
